The Target Windows team have completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge raising £1,315, over double that of the original £500 target, in aid of national charity Dogs Trust. The team, led by Director of Target Windows Guy Basnett, including Nicky and Rich Green, Sam and Jodie Plant, and Mick Tune, took on the mountainous challenge on Saturday 21st August 2021.
What is the Three Peaks Challenge? ⛰️
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge involves hiking 24.5 miles and ascending 5,200 feet in under 12 hours, across the mountains of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Why we chose Dogs Trust 🐶🐾
Team Target Windows have completed the Three Peaks challenge to raise money for our chosen charity, Dogs Trust, as we are all dog lovers and are passionate about the amazing work they do. Dogs Trust work hard to run 21 rehoming centres across the UK with the aim to protect over 16,000 dogs annually – focusing on the rehabilitation and rehoming of dogs which have been either abandoned or given up by their owners, of which the charity has seen an increase since lockdown, so fundraising for this cause is even more vital this year.
Target Windows, a family-run business operating for almost 40 years in Staffordshire, started working with Dogs Trust in 2011. In just over 10 years, Team Target has completed 15 projects at Dogs Trust kennels at: Loughborough, Evesham, Basildon, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Salisbury, Brighton, Darlington, Cardiff, Shrewsbury, Kenilworth, Glasgow, Newbury and Canterbury. These projects involve installing specially adapted windows and doors in their rehoming centres to help create a comfortable environment for the dogs.
The grand total 💰
We raised £1,315, absolutely smashing through our original goal of £500 and raising over double that amount. We could not be prouder of our dedicated team taking on such a difficult challenge to raise money for a deserving charity and changing the lives of more dogs and puppies by keeping them safe, cared for and comfortable until they find their forever homes.
We also could not have done it without the support and generous donations of the public, and want to say a huge thank you to all who supported us.
Well done team!
